Organizer: Dr. K. Bailey Thomas
K. Bailey Thomas is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Louisville in the Department of Philosophy. During 2022-2024 they will be a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Philosophy at Dartmouth College.
Bailey's work connects issues in social epistemology, Black feminist theory, Black trans studies and critique, critical philosophy of race, African-American philosophy, and the Radical Black intellectual tradition. They are currently working on a manuscript based on the relationship between white willful ignorance (as conceptualized by Charles Mills and other Black theorists) and oppressive entities that knowingly disseminate false epistemic claims that are then taken as truth by the willfully ignorant. This parasitic, or insidious, relationships creates the framework for oppressive forms of ignorance that continue to plague Western society.
To contact Bailey directly, send them an email to [email protected]; all roundtable inquiries should be submitted through the contact form below or to [email protected].
